Gregory Swanberg, MBAGregory Swanberg, M.B.A.

Chief Executive Officer

As the Chief Executive Officer, Swanberg has set the corporate vision and mission for BioStorage Technologies which is focused on driving strategic business growth through the expansion of comprehensive sample management solutions, the development of strategic partnerships and the growth of business operations within new geographies.

Swanberg has over three decades of experience providing direct oversight of the technical delivery of global offsite and onsite services for critical functions in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, public and private research centers, hospitals and clinics and data centers. Within these organizations he has managed a significant number of global operational staff in the areas of corporate business development and global sales. In addition, he has over 10 years of executive consulting expertise in the areas of critical facilities management, business continuity, corporate strategic outsourcing, organizational strategy development and design and process improvement. He has provided management and consulting support, both domestically and globally within several of the world’s top five biopharmaceutical and financial services companies including Pfizer, Merck, Genentech, Novartis, Eli Lilly, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, AT&T, Whirlpool and Lexmark

Most recently, Swanberg was the Managing Director of UMS Advisory, a firm focused on outsourcing and operational excellence, primarily in the life sciences sector. He gained his consulting experience while serving in executive positions with EMCOR Facilities Services where he was VP & GM of the Eastern US and while serving a variety of senior leadership roles for Johnson Controls World Services both domestically and on multi-year international assignments. Swanberg started his career in management positions with Pan Am Airlines World Services Division overseeing the maintenance of key strategic and nuclear assets of the US Department of Defense.
Swanberg holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky, a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Georgia Southern University, and an M.B.A from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Lori A Ball, MBALori A. Ball, M.B.A.

Chief Operating Officer

As the Chief Operating Officer, Ball leads the successful development and execution of BioStorage Technologies global biorepository operations and logistics expansion strategies, comprehensive sample management solutions, global strategic marketing and business development and the design and delivery of innovative technology solutions.

Ball brings over 25 years of consumer products, CRO and pharmaceutical services industry experience to BioStorage Technologies and she has a strategic role in the overall management and growth of the company. Her leadership has enabled the company to achieve year-over-year double-digit revenue growth and to increase its scale of operations through the expansion of facilities, growth in staffing and development of talent, increasing the company’s footprint into new geographies and integration of new service capabilities.

Formerly at Covance, Inc., she had a proven track record of sales and revenue growth serving as the global head of sales and business development and the global head of supply chain management and logistics. In these roles, she was responsible for overseeing multiple lines of management, leading market expansion into new industry sectors and geographies, developing profitable logistics partnerships and introducing innovative global sales force automation and sales techniques to the organization.

Ball serves on many industry impact initiatives and is a recognized expert and speaker. She earned an M.B.A. from Indiana Wesleyan University and a B.A. from Anderson University and holds Six Sigma process improvement credentials.

Mike ReffeittMike Reffeitt, MBA

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO and a member of the Executive Management Team, Reffeitt leads the organization in the strategic and financial oversight of the company. He has senior responsibility for all areas related to finance and accounting, human resources, strategic and commercial development, legal and administration, information technology infrastructure, and facilities and real estate. He works closely with the Board of Directors and is the lead staff on both the Audit and Compensation Committees. He is the chief financial spokesperson for the company, working with shareholders and the investment and banking communities.

Prior to joining BioStorage Technologies, Reffeitt spent nearly a decade with Covance Inc., assuming increasing areas of responsibility, most recently as a Director in the Finance Department.

Mr. Reffeitt holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration.

Brent AtwoodBrent Atwood

Vice President of Global Sales

As Vice President of Global Sales, Atwood oversees overall coordination, functional management and leadership of global sales initiatives for BioStorage Technologies. Key functions include development and execution of sales strategies, key account management, and management of the global sales team. Atwood works in collaboration with the global marketing team to identify and develop marketing initiatives and new customer service opportunities.

With more than 20 years of sales and leadership experience, Atwood has been immersed in the healthcare market—from medical device and software products to diagnostic services. Prior to BioStorage Technologies, he held roles of progressive leadership at LifeWatch AG, most recently serving as chief sales officer. Prior to LifeWatch AG, Atwood led Cerner Corporation’s National Health “for profit” business segment and served as Vice President of the Enterprise Management Group at Computer Associates. He graduated from Hanover College in Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, and a minor in Business Administration.

Dr. Kristina RobsonKristina Robson, Ph.D.

Senior Director of Comprehensive Solutions

With well over 10 years of experience in the academic, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, Kristina Robson, Ph.D., is Senior Director of Comprehensive Solutions at BioStorage Technologies. Dr. Robson manages global policies and procedures for sample management operations and oversees strategic sample management service partnerships. In addition, Dr. Robson is responsible for developing process efficiencies for the optimization of sample assets to support research and development and she also helps establish the department’s overall vision, drive improvement initiatives and monitor effective performance metrics.

Prior to joining BioStorage Technologies, Dr. Robson was the Scientific Director of BioPharma Services for EMD Millipore’s Discovery & Development Solutions organization. Robson holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Biochemistry and Division of Genetics from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University.

Catherine MichaelCatherine Weaver

Global Head of Solution Design

As the Global Head of Solution Design, Weaver is responsible for creating scalable methods for implementing unique sample management solutions for strategic partnerships with laboratories, CROs, emerging pharma companies and in newly discovered business markets. Most recently she defined and launched an onsite sample management model, which leverages BioStorage Technologies’ people, process, and technology to create self-contained sample management departments within a customer’s research organization.

Previously at BioStorage Technologies, Weaver was the Global Head of Sample Management Operations, where she led the development and implementation of sample management and establishment of global policies and procedures for Good Storage Practices. In this role, she managed the operations department and initiated the integration of sample preparation and clinical trial project management services into the business.

Prior to joining BioStorage Technologies, Weaver was Executive Director of Global Project and Data Management at PPD Global Central Labs. In this role, she led the departments responsible for all project services and data deliverables to the company’s pharmaceutical clients, including trial definition, conduct and closeout. As part of the executive committee, Weaver defined and led strategic process and technology initiatives, as well as managed financial and operational plans for all markets.

Weaver holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind. She also studied pharmacy through Purdue University.

Russ HagerRuss Hager

Vice President of Global Operations

As the Vice President of Global Operations, Russ Hager manages all BioStorage Technologies’ operations globally along with supply chain activities for relocation services and logistics. With a strong background in the FDA-regulated medical device and pharmaceutical industries, he has developed business continuity plans for manufacturing and supply chain operations for major corporations. Recognized as a subject matter specialist on warehousing and transportation, Hager possesses extensive experience with domestic and international supply chain management. He is also considered a subject matter expert in cold chain logistics support within GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environments. His certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, and Quality provide a robust background in continuous improvement.

Bringing more than 30 years of experience to BioStorage Technologies, Hager most recently was the Senior Director of Global Biorepository Operations at BioStorage. He also worked for Abbott Laboratories in roles of progressive responsibility, including senior leadership within global logistics, inventory, distribution, operations, and engineering. Hager earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.

Anna O'Nan, CPAAnna O’Nan, CPA, CGMA

Vice President of Global Finance & Corporate Services

As Vice President of Global Finance and Corporate Services, O’Nan oversees global financial, human resources and contracting operations, including financial statement preparation and reporting, audit and tax, treasury, all accounting functions, forecasting, budgeting, pricing, talent management, succession planning, training, compliance, corporate risk management and contract negotiations. She is also responsible for developing Corporate Services expansion solutions for the Company’s increasing geographic and services footprints.

Prior to joining BioStorage Technologies, Anna spent 10 years in progressive managerial finance roles at firms including Arthur Andersen, Ford Motor Company, Hertz and Payton, LLC. She is a certified public accountant, chartered global management accountant and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.

Lisa Gilbert, MBALisa Gilbert, M.B.A.

Senior Director of Global Marketing

As the Senior Director of Global Marketing, Gilbert reports to the Chief Operating Officer and leads the development of corporate marketing strategy, brand presence, and the evaluation of new service solutions, partnerships and alliances. She brings over 24 years of healthcare industry research, sales and marketing experience within the pharmaceutical, CRO and health insurance industries to BioStorage Technologies.

Gilbert’s expertise is in both marketing strategy and market research and she has proven success in global brand development, new product planning, market and competitor intelligence and in establishing customer relationship building and retention programs to effectively target and leverage sales and marketing efforts, and resources.

Prior to joining BioStorage Technologies, Gilbert was the Director of Strategic Marketing for United Healthcare. She also previously held positions as the Senior Global Marketing Manager for Covance and Global Product Manager positions for Eli Lilly & Company and Allergan, Inc.

Gilbert received an M.B.A from the University of California, Irvine in Healthcare Marketing and Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University. She has a certification in project management and Six Sigma training and serves on the ISBER Scientific Policy Committee.

Lance ClarkLance Clark, SPHR

Director of Global Human Resources

Lance Clark has more than 25 years of experience as a human resources leader in a variety of industries. He directs all human resources activities for BioStorage Technologies, including the planning, development and implementation of strategic HR goals and objectives, recruitment and retention, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and the training, development and performance management of staff worldwide.His experience in providing support to employees at client locations around the world will be a tremendous asset to the company’s expansion into on-site sample management services, which allow customers to keep samples at their location while utilizing BioStorage Technologies industry-leading technologies and expertise.

Lance graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Science and then completed his Law Degree at Indiana University School of Law. Admitted to both the Indiana and Pennsylvania Bar, he also holds his Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

Bryan HudsonBryan Hudson

Associate Director of Global Quality Assurance

As the Associate Director of Global Quality Assurance, Hudson reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the oversight of global quality assurance, including development and management of standard operating procedures (SOPs), compliance and audits by regulatory agencies and corporate clients.

Hudson oversees the Quality Audit Program and is responsible for maintaining the
US 21 CFR part 11 compliance of validated software. He also manages the enforcement of all facets of global regulatory and GxP compliance as it relates to the storage of valuable sample assets including: Good Storage Practices(GSP), Good Tissue Practices (GTP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and Good Clinical Practices (GCP).

With over 17 years of professional experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, Hudson’s previous experience includes 7 years at Sentry BioPharma Services as the Quality Assurance Manager and 10 years at Baxter where he served in both Quality Control Analytical Lab Management and IT software validation roles.

Hudson graduated from Purdue University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and has completed graduate coursework in the field of Informatics.
