BioStorage Technologies to Host GSP Workshop

BioStorage leadership staff will join esteem panelists from pharma, academia and government to discuss the need for universal standards of Good Storage Practice (GSP) at the 2011 International Society of Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) Annual Meeting in Arlington, VA on May 18th. Facilitated by Dr. John Mills, MD, PhD, Chairman of the Board, the workshop will highlight the role standardization can play in encouraging the adherence to specific sample management protocols and processes, which will ultimately help elevate GSP to the same level of integrity, transparency and compliance as other GxP environments. Panel participants include:
- Ann Janssen, PhD, Head DNA and BioFluids Research Center of Emphasis, Pfizer
- Helen M. Moore, PhD, Biospecimen Research Network Program Manager, Office of the Director, National Cancer Institute
- Allison Hubel, PhD, Professor and BioCoR Director, University of Minnesota
- Lori Ball, Chief Operating Officer, BioStorage Technologies, Inc.
In addition, our leadership staff will present several scientific posters at this year’s meeting. Lori Ball, Chief Operating Officer, will present information on new strategies for leveraging virtual technology solutions to support biopharmaceutical companies in achieving scalable sample management processes and clinical data integration to advance product research. Dr. John Mills, Chairman of the Board, will introduce protocols for the INTEGRITY Study, a 24-month longitudinal research project aimed at measuring the impact sample preparation techniques have on the long-term integrity of DNA and RNA. Russ Hager, Global Director of Supply Chain, will discuss best practices for the global distribution of specialized biomaterials in clinical trials.
